It looks like Mark Sanford, the Appalachian Trail enthusiast and erstwhile former Governor of South Carolina, is in hot water after his ex-wife filed court papers accusing him of trespassing. Apparently she found him exiting her residence in early February while using his cell phone as a flashlight. Naturally, the court date is set for two days after the May 7th special election against Stephen Colbert’s sister, Elizabeth Colbert Busch, thereby keeping the media’s attention focused on Mark Sanford’s seeming inability to keep shooting himself in the foot.
